Since 2000, Dr. Damon Whitfield has served as medical director at the Liberty Osteopathic Center in Powell, Ohio, and has held the same position at Mt. Carmel Occupational Health 2004 to 2006. He expanded his professional activities in 2016 by becoming a board member with Osteopathic Education Services in Indianapolis. Between 2020 and 2021, Dr. Damon Whitfield also served as president of Prolotherapy Regenerative Medicine, an affiliate of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). He remains a board member at the AOA non-profit organization.
Dr. Damon Whitfield has spent more than 28 years as a practicing physician. A few of his professional affiliations include the American College of Emergency Physicians, the Ohio American College of Emergency Physicians, and the Ohio Osteopathic Association.
Academically, Dr. Damon studied economics as an undergraduate at Michigan State University. He returned to Michigan State to complete a doctor of osteopathic medicine program and 22 years later receiving his masters of public health in epidemiology from Harvard in 2020. His postdoctoral medical training included serving as chief resident in emergency medicine and as a clinical instructor in the emergency medicine residency at MSU. He also maintains AOA board certification in neuromusculoskeletal medicine and pain medicine.
